Jurassic is currently our oldest resident at the ranch, having lived here all 21 years of her life. She is our first-ride queen, having given countless first rides (or first horse-encounters) to kids of all ages.

Jurassic was named by my son Alan when he was only three years old, and admittedly more obsessed with Jurassic Park than he was with the horses. She has been our princess from the day she was born, and has been my steady horse through her entire life, competing in barrel racing, mounted shooting, working ranch horse, and whatever else I could ask of her. She has been in the Huckleberry Parade here in Trout Creek almost every single year since she was rideable.

Now, Jurassic is retired from most competitions, but is full of life and love for teaching our youngest horse lovers. She is always unbelievably careful and quiet for all riders, no matter what we throw at her.

Jurassic is the mama to Fireball and Bandit. She has only had those two colts, but was such a good mom.
